The use of paper: Minimizing and Recycling

Save paper and environment, as paper is too valuable to be wasted. As per the statistics, there is around 1 million tonnes of paper that is being used everyday, and 93% of it come from the trees. To produce one ton of paper requires 2-3 times the weight of trees. Simultaneously, making paper from recycled content rather than virgin fibers creates 74 % less air pollution and 35 % less water pollution.

 Tips for minimizing the paper use:

• For printing, copying, writing and drawing, try to use both sides of the sheet.
• You can reuse the paper that's already printed on one side by manually feeding it into copiers and printers. The reuse of paper can be done for centralized documents like drafts and short-lived items such as meeting agendas or temporary signs, etc.
• Technology is at its verge. E-mail can be used to share documents and ideas.
• Change your bills to ‘paperless’ and pay them online or by phone. Most companies will make this easy for you to do it, since an Email is a lot cheaper than postage.
• Transfer the data via electronic media rather than printing a paper, it reduces office paper waste as well.
• Method of efficient copying —Don’t use a bigger piece of paper than your need.
• You can use two-way or send-and-return envelopes. The ones which get delivered can be accepted with a response even.
• Reuse old paper for notepads. It can be cut into custom sizes and simply bound with a staple or glue.
• The documents that are drafted can be viewed and edited on-screen.
• Nowadays everybody has an access to the Internet, Google docs can be used for the editing, viewing and sharing purposes. This will consume less time as everything will be done online.
• Be frugal about magazine, newspapers subscriptions etc. Many newspapers have online versions download the App in this android-friendly environment.
